To say that French-American actor Gilles Marini has a big heart would be an understatement. The loving family man took his wife, Carole, and their two children, Juliana and Georges, to Tahiti and Bora Bora over the Easter holiday to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary. Super sweet, right? That’s not even the whole story. The devoted philanthropist took time away from his vacation to lend a helping hand to some of the locals in Bora Bora.

The Marini family stayed at the Manava Suite Resort Tahiti and the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa. They kayaked, went fishing, swam with sharks and stingrays, and enjoyed a private Easter brunch on the beach. Gilles and Carole even hired professional wedding and honeymoon photographer Helene Havard to capture the occasion. All the while, Gilles’s social media was flooded with pictures and updates from their trip. Here are just some of the photos he shared with fans:

The most remarkable thing about the whole experience is how he still found time to give back. Gilles and his friend Chris Offutt decided to join the search for a missing local man, undertaking a risky climb up Mount Otemanu. During their search, they ran into three men from the local village of Fanui, and ended up giving them the shoes off their very own feet.
