Air Tahiti Nui will soon have a new look! Starting in April, the award-winning airline is launching a $17 million renovation on board its fleet of Airbus A340-300 aircraft. The reconfiguration includes upgraded seats and the installation of a new in-flight entertainment system.
The Poerava Business Class will increase from 24 to 32 seats and feature angled ‘cocoon’ seats with a 60-inch seat pitch to provide more personal room and space. All seats will be configured in a 2-2 layout, offering passengers a choice of only window and aisle seating.

The Moana Economy Class will feature new lightweight seats configured in the popular 2-4-2 cabin layout. They will continue to be wider than the airline industry average with an 18-inch width and average 32-inch pitch.

All seats will feature a new in-flight entertainment system, with on-demand access to movies, TV programs, magazines, games and music. The system will also include channels for kids plus a destination-focused channel, Tiare TV, allowing passengers to experience the islands of Tahiti the moment they step on board.

Combining high tech with Polynesian charm, the updated cabin design features colors that reflect the stunning beauty of Tahiti. “We take pride in completing this with a ’boutique’ feel and our exclusive Polynesian hospitality, to make our flights an enjoyable and genuine part of the travel experience to Tahiti,” said Etienne Howan, Chairman & CEO of Air Tahiti Nui.
Three of the aircraft will be updated by June, so hopefully your trip lands you on one of the new planes. Bon voyage!
