That’s exactly what Alex Pelling and Lisa Gant, the duo behind 2People1Life, have been doing since 2011. They quit their jobs, sold their house and vowed to get married in every country they visit. Their goal is to embrace the culture and local customs of each destination and discover what makes bringing two people together such a worldwide tradition.

Back in April, they flew to our islands and had their first inflight wedding aboard Air Tahiti Nui, followed by a traditional Tahitian wedding ceremony in both Tahiti and Bora Bora. Tahitian Music & Ukulele Festival

This Friday, June 21st is the annual Tahitian Music Festival. Held every year on this symbolic date, it is meant to celebrate the summer solstice. Many hotels and restaurants around the island will have special guests and live bands performing for the occasion. Kicking off a very musical weekend, the event is then followed by the 6th annual Hitia’a Ukulele Festival on Saturday, June 22nd on the eastern side of the island. 2013 Heiva Schedule

This year marks the 131st Heiva i Tahiti, an annual event that transforms the island into a spectacular celebration of Polynesian culture and dance. They just released the schedule and the performances are set to kick off on Thursday, July 4th at To’ata Square in downtown Papeete, and conclude on Saturday, July 20th.
